CHURCH THAT MAKES YOU FEEL GOOD
Let’s put it this way--we’re not your momma’s church. We take the Bible seriously, not literally. Sure, there will be a message but we work hard to relate scripture to the cultural and political issues happening in today’s world and in your life.
We like to keep it fluid and organic. The message will relate to
what’s going on in the world and in your life right now. Topics are always timely...
and nothing is off limits. We don’t confine our message to what’s comfortable--we
challenge you to push your self discovery and awareness of how to use
your strengths in the world.
Oh and we love music, so you’ll definitely experience it during a worship service.
We offer two different types of services, so if you feel more comfortable with traditional
hymns, our early service is for you. Our later service features a full band and more
contemporary music. This is our more family-centric service with a
more active atmosphere.
Our later service at 11:00 is lively, energetic and joyful, featuring a praise band and more contemporary music. It’s one big family celebration. Our praise band and singers provide inspiring music worship leadership for this service – it’s hard not to want to move when you hear them. This is a more informal service – if rolling out of bed and grabbing a coffee on the weekend is your thing, then do that and come on over, you'll be in good company!
If you feel more comfortable with a traditional format, our 8:30 service is for you. We sing both old and new songs, presented in a variety of ways – from classical to jazz to keep things interesting. Our Choir of Peace, Bells of Peace, Choir Ensembles and individual music offerings provide a beautiful backdrop to our morning liturgy.
We’re all about kids at Peace Church. We believe that children should be an active part of our worship services. We have a special table set up front on the right side of the sanctuary with activities for busy hands. This space also provides families a good view of the service and music to get involved in worship together. We encourage you to sit up close and talk about what is happening and how it affects you personally. If you have questions about any particular section of service, just ask us!
We do provide a Wiggle Room (nursery) for the wee ones and for times when you want to attend worship service on your own.
CELEBRATING COMMUNION AT
Communion is served the first Sunday of each month at our services. All are welcome to partake in the bread and cup at Christ's table. Gluten-free communion bread is available as well as grape juice for those who prefer it to wine.
"God has told you, O mortal,
what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do
justice, and to love kindness, and to
walk humbly with your God?"
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he has anointed me to bring
good news to the poor. He has sent
me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to
the blind, to let the oppressed go
free, to proclaim the year
of the Lord’s favor.”
