Sara Schliep

Music Ministry/Contemporary Service Music Director

Sara has been a member of Peace Church since moving to Rochester in 1984. Over the years, she has been involved in many aspects of music ministry, including the handbell choir, children’s and adult choir, and musicals. She has had a leadership role with OneVoice since its inception, with the first contemporary service in January 2004. She enjoys working with the many talented musicians at Peace, and feels blessed by the opportunity to share God’s music in it’s many forms. Her role became a staff position in 2006.

At that time, she chose to leave her career as a User Interface Designer at IBM and focus on music and family. In addition to leading OneVoice and playing piano/keyboard for the contemporary service, Sara plays piano for many of the weddings and funerals at Peace.

She also plays for private and public events, and has performed at numerous venues in the Rochester area. She moonlights as a backup singer and percussionist for a local oldies band called “LP & the 45’s.”
