Children's Sunday School
Our Preschool class has wonderful volunteers to facilitate the Sunday lesson which is based on “Gather Round” curriculum. They meet from 9:40am-10:45am in room 211.
Our Kindergarten-5th grade Sunday School is from 9:40am-10:45am. We begin with 20 min. of music. Afterwards, children are taken to their classroom for a unique and dynamic type of education program. This “multiple intelligence approach” is based on the Workshop Rotation Model (WoRM) in which participants explore Biblical themes through a series of interactive workshops. The people, places and messages of the Bible come to life as kindergarten through fifth grade children rotate through workshops involving cooking, multimedia activities, storytelling, music, drama and puppets, movies and art. Our K-5 class is facilitated by workshop leaders who teach the lessons and “shepherds” who accompany each grade group to their classes and are available for support and supervision. Our curriculum is called “Cornerstone” and the theme for 2009/2010 is “The Word of God.” Classrooms vary each week but but are posted on whiteboards throughout the hallways so that parents know which room their child is in.
*In order to assure the safety of our children and youth, all adult volunteers have been cleared through a background check
